XMR is going to have a upgrade at block height 1685555, which is expected to happen on October 18th, 2018. Major contents for this upgrade include: 1) enabled Bulletproofs for reduced transaction sizes, 2) sets the ringsize globally to 11 for uniformity of transactions, 3) updated the PoW algorithm to CNv2, 4) and finally sets the max transaction size at half of the penalty free block size.
For miners, what you need to care about is that its PoW algorithm will change from CryptoNight V1 to CryptoNight V2 (CN v2), which means this is a hard fork upgrade. To ensure that customers can continue to mine and get mining profit correctly, do please complete the following upgrade before block height 1685555.
